Gifts of Appreciated Stock/IRA Charitable Gifts

Do you have a bit of extra “nest egg” that you’d like to put to good use for birds?

Making a gift of appreciated publicly traded securities is an easy and smart way to support Bird Conservancy of the Rockies! Not only will your gift be put to immediate use protecting birds and their habitats, you may see capital gains and income tax benefits. We encourage you to discuss this option with your tax advisor.

Are you 70 ½ or older? If so, you can give up to $100,000 per calendar year through your IRA. This is an incredibly effective way to minimize your tax obligations while supporting the mission of Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. Please consult your tax advisor before making an IRA distribution.

To make an IRA charitable distribution, contact your IRA custodian and ask them to send the check for a “qualified charitable distribution” to Bird Conservancy of the Rockies at 14500 Lark Bunting Lane, Brighton, CO 80603. Please ask your IRA custodian to include your name and address along with the donation.
