The Bird Way with Jennifer Ackerman

July 8, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm MDT

$8

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Ackerman’s new book The Bird Way: A New Look at How Birds Talk, Work, Play, Parent, and Think is an investigation into the bird way of being, and the recent scientific research that is dramatically shifting our understanding of birds. The bird way is much more than a unique pattern of brain wiring, and lately, scientists have taken a new look at bird behaviors they previously dismissed as anomalies or mysteries revealing the remarkable intelligence underlying these activities. Ackerman will examine abilities once considered uniquely our own: deception, manipulation, cheating, kidnapping, infanticide, but also ingenious communication between species, cooperation, collaboration, altruism, culture, and play. The Bird Way is available for purchase from Penguin Random House.

This virtual program is presented in partnership with Denver Museum of Nature & Science with promotional support from Denver Audubon and Audubon Rockies. The event is FREE for Bird Conservancy of the Rockies and DMNS/Audubon members. Contact us at info(at)birdconservancy.org to request the promotional code to use during checkout.
