Wildlife Habitat Biologist - New Mexico
Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is hiring a partner Wildlife Habitat Biologist (biologist) to meet the objectives of promoting wildlife and grassland habitat conservation in Eastern New Mexico. This position is a partnership between New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. With an emphasis on nongame bird conservation, the biologist will help agricultural producers improve wildlife habitat and achieve their management objectives through direct technical assistance; developing research, monitoring, and management actions to fill knowledge gaps to improve status of grasslands and wildlife species (prioritizing Species of Greatest Conservation Need); developing and sustaining cooperative partnerships; providing information and outreach to key stakeholders; engaging in collaboration with conservation agencies and organizations to identify funding for project support.

IMBCR Avian Field Technician - Colorado
Experience a season of adventure counting birds every morning in Colorado with the Integrated Monitoring in Bird Conservation Regions (IMBCR) program! You’ll travel across the state from low elevation pinyon-juniper, sagebrush and grasslands, to mid-elevation conifer and aspen forests to high-elevation alpine tundra.
Surveys occur on private and public property, including U.S. National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, and National Park Service lands. You will get to observe an impressive variety of species and explore scenic areas such as Summit County, the San Juan Mountains, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Comanche National Grassland. You’ll come away with a deep and intimate appreciation for all Colorado has to offer.
This position will have you birding every morning with the possibility of observing well over 100 bird species as well as many other species of Colorado wildlife.

IMBCR Avian Field Technician - Northern Great Plains
Experience a season of adventure counting birds every morning with the Integrated Monitoring in Bird Conservation Regions (IMBCR) program! You will work in Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota on both private and public lands, including some National Parks, and will move North and up in elevation through the field season. You will work in a vast range of elevation and habitats and have an excellent opportunity to explore the Great Plains and Black Hills. This position will have you birding every morning with the opportunity to see Great Plains as well as western montane birds.

IMBCR Avian Field Technician - Southwest
Experience a season of adventure counting birds every morning with the Integrated Monitoring in Bird Conservation Regions (IMBCR) program! You will work throughout Arizona and western New Mexico on public and private lands moving from lower elevation to higher elevation throughout the season.
Surveys span a variety of elevations and habitats including salt desert scrub, riparian, sagebrush, pinyon-juniper, and montane forest. You will get to observe an impressive variety of species and explore scenic areas and birding hot spots such as the Chiricahua Mountains, Madera Canyon, Huachuca Mountains, Kaibab NF, and Gila NF. This position will have you birding every morning with the possibility of observing Southwestern rarities such as Elegant trogon, Rivoli’s hummingbird, California condor, Gila woodpecker, Yellow-eyed Junco, Painted redstart and many more.

IMBCR Avian Field Technician - Southern Great Plains
Experience a season of adventure counting birds every morning with the Integrated Monitoring in Bird Conservation Regions (IMBCR) program! You’ll travel north with the spring through the western portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska.
Surveys occur mostly on private land in a variety of habitats including mesquite bosques, prairies, and riparian systems. You’ll get to observe an impressive variety of species as you move across the study area, including Painted Bunting, Cactus Wren, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Burrowing Owl, Mississippi Kite, Scaled Quail, and Lesser Prairie-Chicken.
This position will have you birding every day during the height of spring migration in the fantastic Great Plains flyway!

Experience a season of adventure counting birds every morning in Wyoming with the Integrated Monitoring in Bird Conservation Regions (IMBCR) program! You’ll travel across the state from low elevation sagebrush and grasslands, to mid-elevation conifer forests to high-elevation alpine tundra.

Mountains to Plains Avian Field Technician - Fort Collins, CO
The seasonal technicians will participate in avian point count surveys and vegetation monitoring on properties owned and managed by the City of Fort Collins in Larimer County in an effort to monitor bird populations and guide management of Natural Areas and Open Spaces.

Bird Camp Intern - Brighton, CO
We are looking for one Bird Camp Instructor intern to help with our day and overnight camps. This role will run from May 21, 2026 through August 7, 2026 as a full-time position encompassing approximately 400 hours total through the 10 week term. In this time the intern will join in on a week long staff training that encompasses preventative protocols, meets state licensing requirements and provides hands-on training for the programs to be run throughout the course of the internship. Pineridge Bird Banding Internship - Fort Collins, CO
The Banding Intern assists the Fort Collins Education Manager at the Pineridge Banding Station with banding birds, data management, station set-up/break-down, and leading field trips. Seasonal Bird Bander - Nebraska
We are seeking an experienced bird bander for a Spring migration banding station. The station is at Ash Hollow State Historical Park near Lewellen, NE. Position is approximately 5 weeks of banding; dates are April 21st – May 23rd. Primary duties are bird capture and banding, but also include: set-up and dismantling of banding stations, including clearing net lanes, erecting and maintaining nets, and proper storage of nets at the end of the banding season.
