Annual Gatherings

Bird Conservancy of the Rockies hosts several annual gatherings including fundraisers, bird festivals, and speaking events. These gatherings help raise critical funds for bird conservation, while increasing awareness of the natural world, and the work we do at Bird Conservancy. Our annual A Night for the Birds fall fundraiser will be held on October 16, 2026 

Bird Conservancy of the Rockies’ annual fall fundraiser celebration is our most anticipated event of the year! A Night for the Birds attracts hundreds of bird lovers, philanthropists, and conservation and community leaders from across the Front Range and beyond. Guests enjoy wonderful food and drinks, vie for the highest bids in the silent and live auctions, compete for prizes in exciting games, and learn about our programs from special guest speakers.

When: October 16, 2026 from 6 – 9 p.m.

Our 3rd Annual Birds & Brews Nebraska fundraiser will be held on August 1, 2026!

Bringing together bird lovers, outdoors enthusiasts, and community leaders from Scottsbluff and beyond to celebrate our feathered friends. All sponsorships and proceeds will benefit Bird Conservancy’s Environmental Education programming across the Nebraska Panhandle.

Our host is Papa Moon Cider, Western Nebraska’s first craft beverage producer. They pride themselves in pioneering flavors by sourcing on-site ingredients from local growers. Enjoy amazing cider, mead and wine, while mingling with fellow supporters, participating in fun activities, including a silent auction.

Tickets will be available in early summer 2026!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 13 from 12 – 5 p.m. for our 4th annual Block Party.

Bird Conservancy’s Block Party is an annual gathering in Fort Collins that celebrates birds, conservation, and our community partners. Each year, over 150 guests flock together at a local brewery to enjoy fun games and activities, mingle with Bird Conservancy staff and fellow supporters, and listen to live music. The Block Party is on its way to becoming a premier environmental event in Northern Colorado, giving folks an opportunity to showcase their support for the natural world and their local community.

When: June 13, 2026 from 12 – 5 p.m.

Fall Birding Festival banner

Our annual Fall Birding Festival at Barr Lake State Park will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026

Come celebrate the magic of birds and all they have to teach us! People of all ages and abilities can participate via a bird banding station, mindful bird walks, family activities, crafts, educational booths, and other activities!
 
Date/time: Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
 
Location: Barr Lake State Park Nature Center ($10/vehicle daily entrance fee or an annual state park pass is required for entry); 13401 Picadilly Road, Brighton, CO 80603.
 

Thirsty Bird: Science on Tap is the perfect event for supporters old and new who want to learn more about Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. Each event features a talk by a staff member from our Science, Education, or Stewardship team showcasing their efforts to create a lasting impact on birds, conservation, and local communities. Whether you’re a lifelong bird nerd or just starting on your conservation journey, you are guaranteed to learn something new. These events offer a wonderful opportunity to chat with Bird Conservancy staff one-on-one while raising a glass to birds!

When: We have four Thirsty Bird events a year. They are from 4 – 6 p.m. See below for 2026 dates and presenters.

Where: All Thirsty Bird events in 2026 will take place at New Belgium Brewing, 500 Linden St, Fort Collins, CO 80524

Registration is not required, though we do recommend arriving early to grab a seat as these events tend to be standing room only.

Bird Conservancy’s Fort Collins Education Manager, Stephanie Wheeler, will give a presentation on the impact of the growing Fort Collins education program, how you can get involved, and what’s next! Stephanie’s talk will begin promptly at 5 p.m.

Joining us will be a Bird Conservancy sponsor, Tellus Outdoor, a Colorado-based sustainable outdoor apparel and gear company founded in 2023 with one mission: Adventure With Purpose. Drop by and find out more about their gear!
