DESCRIPTION:Our 3rd Annual Birds & Brews Nebraska fundraiser will be held on August 1\, 2026!\nBringing together bird lovers\, outdoors enthusiasts\, and community leaders from Scottsbluff and beyond to celebrate our feathered friends. All sponsorships and proceeds will benefit Bird Conservancy’s Environmental Education programming across the Nebraska Panhandle. \nOur host is Papa Moon Cider\, Western Nebraska’s first craft beverage producer. They pride themselves in pioneering flavors by sourcing on-site ingredients from local growers. Enjoy amazing cider\, mead and wine\, while mingling with fellow supporters\, participating in fun activities\, including a silent auction. \nTickets will be available in early summer 2026!

SUMMARY:Lory State Park Bird Walk - Arthur's Rock
DESCRIPTION:This hike will encompass the Arthur’s Rock Trail which goes through forested and meadow habitats. We should see a variety of resident and breeding birds. This hike is a chance to hike one of Lory’s most scenic trails with a focus on its feathered features! Interact with and meet other local birders in the community and see what other summer beauty Lory has to offer. Bird Conservancy will provide binoculars to those who need them. Whether new to birding\, or a seasoned birder\, participants of all experience levels are welcome! \nClick here to register! \nMeeting Point: Arthur’s Rock trailhead at the Arthur’s Rock Trailhead Parking Please note\, a $10 Daily or Annual Colorado State Parks Pass is required for entry into the park at all times. The trail is a roughly 3.6 mile out and back trail with an ascent of 1\,182 ft. It is a moderately difficult trail. Join us for a unique opportunity to experience science in action and observe a wildlife biologist banding and collecting important scientific data on live\, migrating birds. The data collected gives us insight to many aspects of avian life history and can be used to inform conservation decisions. \nClick Here to Register! \nScholarships are available! Please apply before registering for your visit. You can apply by clicking here. \nOpen to the public August 22 through October 23\, six days a week (closed Mondays). Weekday programs available from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.\, and weekend programs are available from 8-9 a.m.\, 9-10 a.m.\, and 10-11 a.m. \nSchedule is weather permitting. Station is closed during precipitation or high winds\, and may close early during very hot weather and open later if very cold. \nAccess to the Banding Station requires traveling ~1/4 of a mile on a gravel trail. Please let us know if we can offer any accommodations or assistance to help you get to the Station. Please note\, the Banding Station is in a new temporary location this year.
