DESCRIPTION:Kick off the new year with a refreshing and invigorating 1st Day Birding Walk! Join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies and the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation for a delightful morning of birding. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting out\, everyone is welcome to this community event. \nCome for a little while or stay as long as you’d like! \nDiscover the winter beauty and diversity of our local bird species as we take a leisurely stroll along the Chimney Rock path. We have binoculars and field guides available to use during the walk. Be sure to dress for the weather\, as we’ll be outside the entire time enjoying the crisp winter air. \nWe’ll stay cozy with plenty of hot cocoa and tea. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to partner with Papa Moon Craft Ciders to bring you Nature Music Bingo – Winter Edition! \nWhat does Nature Music Bingo mean? There will be music with “nature” words in the song title and artists’ names\, OR actual calls from some of our local western Nebraska wildlife. You may hear one of many songs like Winter Winds or Snow on the Beach\, music by Arctic Monkeys\, or even the “lovely” Canada Geese calls! No cost to play. Phones and apps like Shazam and Merlin Bird ID (sound identification) can be used to help you identify the songs. \nBring your friends\, family\, and music & nature nerds to enjoy this interactive edition of Nature Music Bingo at the Papa Moon HQ on Avenue B.

DESCRIPTION:Family Nature Club is designed for children and their grown-ups as an opportunity to spend time in nature\, regardless of the season\, to play interactive & engaging games together\, and to learn about Western Nebraska’s unique wildlife and landscape. \nEvery month will feature a new nature topic. Family Nature Club is intended for children and their grownups. Each family group will receive an Exploration Kit to use during the series to explore the natural world around them at home. Family Nature Club will be outside the entire time unless otherwise noted.
