SUMMARY:Saving Birds To Save The Planet: An Evening With Scott Weidensaul
DESCRIPTION:What does bird conservation have to do with saving the planet? More than you might think. \nJoin the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies for an inspiring evening with New York Times bestselling author and naturalist Scott Weidensaul\, whose new book\, The Return of the Oystercatcher\, explores the conservation success stories helping birds — and the ecosystems we all depend on — recover. \nAround the world\, many bird populations face serious threats. But the story isn’t only one of decline. From recovering habitats to rebounding waterfowl\, gnatcatchers and forest songbirds\, bird conservation is showing what’s possible when science\, persistence and community come together. Through stories from the front lines of conservation\, Weidensaul reveals how saving birds can also help protect habitats\, strengthen ecosystems and offer a more hopeful model for the future of the planet. \nFollowing his presentation\, Weidensaul will be joined by Dr. Garth Spellman\, Director of Zoology and Curator of Ornithology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science\, and a representative from Bird Conservancy of the Rockies for a short panel conversation. \nTickets with book purchase are available online through July 23 and include the opportunity to have your book signed by the author. \nClick here to buy your tickets today!
